CYBERPORT

During the afternoon of the secong day, we visited the HK cyberport. Ther was an introduction at first, about the structure of Cyberport. Such as the zigzag corridor, the original design is a straight, which the length would beome about 200m. Therefore, they changed it to a zigzag in order not to make people confuse when waking through the corridor.

Also, when we were visiting the Cyber plaza, we found that all the escalators are kept in low speed when nobody is using it. It totally conforms to the objective of Cyberport---Environmental protection.

This was such a pleasure for us to have visited the Cyberport since we've learnt the concept of the architectures of Cyberport.

Institute of Space and Earth Information Science CUHK

When we were travelling around CUHK, we sometimes saw a white "ball" above the canteen. On Wednesday, the mystery of the "ball" was finally discovered. We visited the Institute of Space and Earth Information Science CUHK and th staff of this building teld us that artually a satellite receiver is covered by the "ball". The ball can protect the receiver from bad weather, and in addtion, the signal won't be blocked by the "ball". What an amazing design!!

M.A.E. Lab

After visiting the Insitute of Space and Earth Information Science CUHK, we went to the MAE lab. People in these labs invent robot or machine that can work by itself. We firstly visit the machine of an automatic chinese writing brush. When it sees a piece of writing, it can copy and paste another one immediately.

The next one is a motor-driven chair which can move by detecting the motion of a paralyzed person's eyeballs or the instructions given by a paralyzed person.

The technology improves promptly nowadays and our life will become more and more convenience.
